VARIOUS ARTISTS - Kaspar Hauser Records Compilation No. 2
|
Our newest compilation. This time it's a double cd-r with a stencil booklet. In total there are 20 tracks: mostly slow, droney compositions, but also some heavy shoegazers and harsh cut & paste collages.
The contributing artists on this second Kaspar Hauser Records compilation, coming from Belgium, the Netherlands, the United States, Sweden, Italy, Ireland, Japan, Denmark, Norway and Spain, were asked to compose a soundtrack to an episode of the life of Kaspar Hauser - a German feral child in the 19th century that, not able to speak, suddenly showed up in Nürnberg and was confronted with human habits and culture. Some tracks are quite general, others refer to specific incidents, and some even to scenes from the beautiful movie Werner Herzog made about Hauser, "Jeder für sich und Gott gegen allen". The result is a collection of diverse songs in which one can hear an unambiguous atmosphere.
The stencil booklet was designed by Sarah Vanbelle and was assembled by hand. "Kaspar Hauser Records Compilation No. 2" is available as a limited, numbered edition.
